We are a family owned funeral directors, and we're here to help.
We are a well established family owned firm with a reputation for providing a dedicated and professional service. Each member of our team has been highly trained to deal with clients in a sympathetic and understanding manner at all times.
Our offices are located at 20 Sussex Road in Haywards Heath town centre, and 111 Lower Church Road in Burgess Hill (opposite St John’s Church). They are contemporary, spacious and comfortably furnished, offering an informal environment to discuss and finalise any funeral or memorial arrangements. Should anyone prefer these discussions to take place in the privacy of their own homes, we are only too pleased to come and see you at whatever time is convenient.
We also have an on-site service suite at our premises in Haywards Heath that is available to our families and can accommodate up to 50 attendees for a funeral service.
Patrick, Sandy and Matthew Gallagher have almost 90 years’ experience in the funeral profession between them and have lived and worked in Sussex since 1974. After running J & R Matthews in Cuckfield during the 1980s, the family established their own business, P & S Gallagher in Haywards Heath in 1992. They went on to open Bowley Funeral Service in Hassocks in partnership with Paul Bowley in 1999, a further office for P & S Gallagher in Burgess Hill in 2010, and Bowley & Gallagher in Preston Park, Brighton in 2015.
We are members of The Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, operating within a strict code of practice, and endeavour under all circumstances to provide full and correct information about the services that are available to you.
As part of our commitment to the ongoing professional development of our team and the funeral profession in general, we are members of the BIFD (British Institute of Funeral Directors).
We are also extensively involved with the IFD (Independent Funeral Directors) College, of which Matthew is a governor.
